why am i always the photo opportunity?!

here is me, trying to take a break from playing but instead being bombarded with curious chinese people who really want to take my picture and even though i say over and over "bu yao pai" they insist and i eventually give in, at least this day!

josiah's newest friends & classmates

these are 2 of jo's new friends

they moved into our apt complex a few months ago and

one evening we played for a few hours at the playground, it was true like...

or something...
since our sweet bei bei left, we have been a bit sad but things are looking up...the twins joined our preschool class and they are very friendly- not bei bei - but still friends we are thankful for!
this is one night out front where all the dancers are, we were just playing to the side. ej and jo both had their hair cuts a few minutes before :)

btw, i have no idea who the other random kids are...there were like 30 folks hovering around us trying to get us to really like their kids too, haha:)

i love this first picture because the 2 bad-est boys in class are the ones escorting her into class and jo is justifiably concerned :)

she will go in there maybe 10-30 minutes but it's a start!

this is 'her' class - what we call her class, they are 2-2 1/2 year olds, she will be 2 the end of August so this will be her class in the Fall

she loves riding these little toys and sometimes will participate and play for another 10-30 minutes which again is progress :) we hope it will help her adjust well in the Fall when we sign her up for class for real :)

my 2 peas in a pod!

i love this, they said mommy mommy take our picture! for some reason they enjoy swinging on the same swing together!

my 2 little tikes are the best of playmates these days! they even make us feel guilty if we punish one of them and the other one tries to console the one in trouble from the evil parents

but nonetheless they are best buddies and it is a delight, we couldn't be more pleased and thankful for their friendship!

even though i set them up at 2 tables, they wanted to be at the same one!

a little girl in our building was all dressed up for a performance on Children's Day and the kids thought she was a Princess, so that's what we call her

She has come over a few times to play, she practices a little English and the kids a little Chinese...

this day, they played an intense game of duck, duck, goose, followed by an intense game of hide and seek, followed by 'exercising like mommy'...and then play shopping i think! haha!
